Time is definitely not standing still this year. It is February already. And a week into the month already.
It has also been a pretty crafty time so far. I have received beautiful yarns, some in swaps, and some that I bought, and some from my stash that I caked and got ready to start knitting them. 🙂

Yarn Cakes
The dark blue yarns were some of the yarns that my son in law brought home last year. It is from Frisenvang in Copenhagen, and they get all their yarns from alpaca breeders in Peru. The yarn is hand spun and naturally dyed. It is so very soft.
The seagreen yarn was from my swap buddy in December, in the #SAFestiveswap. I loved the colour so much, I could not put it away, so it was caked rather. I have a pattern ready for it too.
From my stash I took out these 3 pretty pink 100% Cotton Lace yarns dyed by Colourspun, that each is slightly different from the other. They will knit a pretty fade from dark to light.
And since I could finally get my hands on the “Fynbos” colour from Hartlam Yarns, I ordered two skeins. 🙂 which I have caked too. I am keeping my eyes open for a pattern for them.
The blue has already been cast on. No surprise there, as I just love blue yarn, and I had been gifted a gorgeous scarf pattern by Marianne at Frisenvang, specially for this yarn. It is a very dark yarn, so I can only knit mostly during the day.
That was then a good reason to cast on the pink cotton for a small crescent shawl with a pretty and very easy lace border.

New on my needles
My leaves cowl is just about done, just the ribbing and some blocking to complete this lovely project. I really loved using this yarn, and since I have a bit left I may knit something extra with it.

Leaves Cowl Progress
Happy crafting all.
Lovely yarn! Your cowl looks fabulous.
This year is already flying by!
🙂 Thank you so much. xx
Indeed, this year is flying, it feels like things are moving very fast.
I’m always in love with your projects and with the yarn you work! Beautiful!
🙂 Thank you so much for your kind words, it is always appreciated. xx
Beautiful yarn and colours
🙂 Thank you so much. xx
Your yarn is gorgeous and I just love the two projects you started. The pink crescent shawl will be so lovely. I’m not sure where January went but it found wings and disappeared. The cowl looks so warm and soft. As usual you have been very busy.
Thank you so much. Indeed, this year is going so fast. The cowl is done, it is waiting to be blocked. I am looking forward to see the pink shawl develop, although the lacy edge feels so fiddly and slow at the moment. 🙂
Sometimes a project seems to crawl along, but something tells me this one will be beautiful!
Thanks, yes, these are going at a steady pace. 🙂 I have so much in my mind that I want to do as well, but I need to not start them all at once. 🙂 or they will all be very long to finish.
Gorgeous yarns…I love what you are knitting with them and look forward to your progress updates. xx
Thank you so much. xx
love everything you are working on – I can see why you can’t resist them all. Love that blue, it is going to be a wonderful finished product, such a rich color! And the cowl and lacy shawl also are wonderful. 🙂 Glad you are using your time so wisely.
Thank you so much. I love the blue too, it is indeed lovely and rich and deep. Pity I can only work on it when I can see better, i.e. daytime. lol. I could knit it for hours on end.
Longer days are coming!
Lol. That would mean shorter days for us here, 🙂 and more knitting and hibernating too. Yay.
Lol I always forget that you have our opposite! I recently heard about a drought in SA – is that affecting you?
The major drought areas are in the western part of the country. I am more inland and easterly. We do use water carefully where I am in order to not over use what we have. And we do everything we can to help the rest of the country too. Everyone is doing their bit. The western part of the country should get rain in a few months from now, as it will be our winter, and their rainy season. Keeping our fingers crossed in the meantime.
Glad you aren’t in a drought, but my heart goes out to those that are. Especially those who haven’t got easy access to water in good times.
I love the look of cake yarns! They all look so lovely, stacked there waiting to be knit into some wonderful things. Your scarf, shawl and cowl all look wonderful! Can’t wait to see more of the pink one 😉 That lacy pattern is so sweet!
Thank you. I loved these yarns so much, I could not wait to cake them and use them.
The cowl is down and needs to be blocked. 🙂
The pink yarn is cotton, and knits up well too. Only the lacy bit is long enough I can pick up the stitches for a small crescent shawl. It feels like the lacy edge is taking so much longer though.
What gorgeous colours and the projects are beautiful too! Knitting in February’s heat is always a wonder to me – all I can manage at the moment is hooking some tiny bamboo soap bags 🙂
🙂 True, we have also had hot weather, so my projects is on the smallish side. Your bamboo soap bags sounds very interesting.
Yummy yarn and a beautiful cowl ❤
🙂 Thank you so very much.
Beautiful yarns (and beautiful knitting) I love blue too, but that pink of your is really calling me 🙂
🙂 I dont always go for pink, but this one is different, it does call to one. It is slightly mottled when knitted, and is looking pretty.
Beautiful! You always choose these stunning yarns to go with such beautiful patterns
Thank you. 🙂 xx I really appreciate your comments, you inspire me to make pretty things as you are always on the go.
You do such beautiful work! The yarn looks luscious too!
🙂 Thank you so much, your comments are always much appreciated.
