Winter is here.
Woke up to this stunning sunrise and the promise to a beautiful day.

Winter Sunrise
And with the colder weather, came time to spend with the family. Good times, to bake and cook and crochet.
This is what the weekend held. Baking beer bread, making lamb and vegetable curry, and crocheting on my Stormy Day Shawl.
And of course, Miekie enjoyed the cold weather, being a little thief and stealing the hot water bottle for a cozy afternoon nap.

Winter Naps
Your curry and bread look yummy! I just love your shawl:) The yarn is fantastic.
🙂 Thank you very much. I am very happy with the shawl and the yarn is indeed fantastic. With the gradient now starting to show, I just want to crochet faster.
And my family enjoyed the curry and bread, with only a drop left in the bottom of the pot. 🙂
You can’t beat a hot water bottle for naps, your shawl is looking beautiful
Thank you very much.
🙂 And indeed she did, not giving it up until it had cooled off completely. Then she moved to her bed and cuddled under a blanket.
Winter naps sound good! I can’t wait to see your shawl gradient emerge. Stay warm.
Thank you. I am loving it when the gradient change, I always seem to want to work faster then.
🙂 Yes she enjoyed that nap, and did not give up the hot water bottle until it had completely cooled.
Enjoy the week and take care.
Your shawl is coming along nicely. I am enjoying watching the colors unfold. I am sure it feels nice and warm in your hands and across your lap as you stitch.
🙂 Absolutely. It is a lovely crochet pattern, and I also enjoy it when you get to the point where the yarn changes. Makes you want to work even faster. 🙂
that shawl is stunning! And the stew and bread look delicious. All the good things about winter, indeed. 🙂
Thank you, loving the shawl, and want to work on it all the time. 🙂
Best part of winter, the eating, but when summer comes we have to work at getting summer bodies again. 🙂 thank goodness for hot weather and lots of salads.
Yes, it would never do to have winter all year long! 🙂
🙂 Definitely not. But I do enjoy the winter though, with so much more knitting happening.
That winter sunrise picture is awesome. I love the sound of beer bread…I think Mr R would like that too. I love the shawl also…lovely yarn x
It was an amazing sunrise. Every year that tree sheds all its leaves and in spring it is stunning with all the new leaves.
Beer is big in SA. 🙂 we will but beer in everything if we can.
Thank you, loving the yarn and the shawl. 🙂
Gosh, it seems funny to read about winter, when our summer has finally arrived. However, the cooking sounds delicious, although, today I am thinking salad. LOL!. The shawl looks beautiful.
🙂 Indeed, I always find the differences in the hemispheres and seasons funny as well. Always nice to read about what the other half is getting up to.
Thanks for your kind words, I always appreciate hearing from you.
Enjoy summer, I think it is finally there, it did seem to linger a bit in arriving this year.
🙂
Yum! Your Shaw is stunning
