It is winter here, and of course, time for a nice Stay Cosy Swap. It was just a quick and comforting swap, as no knitting or crochet was needed, just the kind and warmheartedness of buddies swapping something warm and cozy, with would mean Yarn, of course, and something nice and warm to drink. My buddy likes coffee, so I got her a lovely toffee flavoured coffee to enjoy and my favourite Dutch cookies (Koffieleutjes). And since she has recently indulged in knitting her first pair of socks, I could not resist sharing a pretty sock pattern with her.

Winter Cozy Swap Goodies
But since I was in the yarn store to get her some Alpaca, which was on her list, and she has never knitted with it before, I could not resist bringing some lovely Alpaca home for myself as well. These lovely neutral colours just had to be part of my stash.

Rowan Alpaca Colour
The yarn store also had some new goodies, like these super cute (fake) fur pompoms. Not so widely available here, and I was lucky to come across these. They also had a Sirdar Colourwheel, that I had not seen yet, and I opted for something cheerful, but not overly bright. I think this cake will knit up pretty well into a comfy shawl for those very grey chilly winters days, when you just need to feel like Spring is around the corner.
And the lovely Sally at Yarnbling updated her store. New Project Bags!! The fabric of these are stunning, with butterflies and dragonflies. I got a really huge bag this time, for those big projects. And some notions bags to match. She also had a few bags left in a previous range, and I ordered this stunning white bag with embroidered flowers on. Just the right size for a lace shawl, or my sock projects.

Project Bags and Notions Bags
I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the one little notions bag, and got these super cute stitch markers inside. What a lovely surprise and way to spoil a person. I love these small markers, they work so well on lace projects.

Stitch Markers
lovely goodies! Your swap buddy will be happy, I think. 🙂
🙂 Thank you. Yes, she got her package, the local couriers are great. And I gifted her a shawl pattern to use the yarn, she is eager to get started. She has never used Alpaca and I am looking forward to seeing her shawl.
Alpaca is a good choice for a shawl, as opposed to something that you want to have hold it’s shape like a sweater or a hat – it doesn’t like to do that. 🙂 I am sure that she will do a lovely job of it.
Absolutely, and I think the alpaca will create a nice drape as well. 🙂
It is now summer here, well almost. Our temperatures this last weekend were wonderful and we were able to get outside and do a little cleaning, weeding and plating flowers. Now that you are having winter, I am sure your needles will be getting more of a workout 😉 I do look forward to everything that you share. You are so talented. Your swapping buddy is going to love the things you are gifting her. Both the yarns you picked up for her and yourself are beautiful! Love that cake yarn! Looking forward to seeing that shawl come to life. And you can never have too many bags 🙂 Love your new ones. The stitch markers are adorable! I think I have seen the furry pom poms once or twice. What do you plan to do with them??
I am so glad you are having summer, your winter was pretty cold. Its chilly here, but not nearly as cold as your part of the world. And its always so lovely to get out and work outside, I adore the time in the garden, and even if I am only able to repot plants.
Indeed, needles are working very hard. The Stratus wrap is on the last colour change. It is big and photographs badly on the needles, so I will have pics once its done. 🙂
My swap buddy got her package, it was only local so the courier delivered in a day. She is loving the alpaca, have never used it, and I gifted her an online pattern for it. She is eager to get started.
I finally bought a very big project bag, and I plan to it soon. I have yarn for a summery sweater, and am thinking of knitting most of it in winter so its ready for the summer.
I may use the pompoms for hats for my daughter, as they always seem to visit Europe in winter. 🙂 and she does enjoy a hat with a pompom.
Have a great week, happy crafting and stitching and mostly enjoy your summer and garden. 🙂
Love the swap goodies that you sent and your new stash enhancements are beautiful.
Thank you, I am so glad my swap buddy liked the yarn too, she says she wants to knit something soon. 🙂
Yummy colors and goodies. The sock pattern is also pretty. I haven’t braved knee high socks yet but may someday. Enjoy the projects and goodies.
Hi there, Thanks so much. 🙂 I have not done knee highs yet either, but maybe one day, in a bit more chunky yarn.
What a lovely pile of goodies! That alpaca is lovely but I think the project bag with the dragonflies is absolutely stunning!
Hi, and thank you. Great to hear from you, as always. 🙂
Indeed, the yarns are lovely, but I do love my baggies, and these are really nice to have. I finally bought a huge bag for those big projects, and I am going to put yarn in it soon in order to use it pretty soon too. 🙂
