Last weekend was a lovely long weekend, and I was invited along to visit a new yarn shop that has just opened.
The new shop is in Kyalami, at Kyalami Corner, and although not close to my home, a very easy drive, freeway all the way there.
The lovely Gen, the owner of the store, treated us extremely well. She has a large work table in the store, and there is coffee and tea if you are in the mood to linger and get creative. Looking at her beautiful yarns and displays I would think many a shopper would be lingering for a while.

I came home with a stunning haul of goodies, and I can hardly wait to get another opportunity to take a drive out to the store again, for a cup of coffee and a chat and some stash enhancements.

We were wonderfully surprised with a free gift as well. Just look at this pretty bag. It is hand printed fabric, and beautifully lined.
What a beautiful place!!!
It is lovely, and a total pleasure to shop here. 🙂
I can easily imagine that 🙂
Beautiful shop!! It’s so bright and all the colors are stunning. I can see why you can’t wait to go back:)
🙂 I do indeed see a trip or two in the very near future. And I must still go and look at her fabrics and stitching goodies too.
wow – it looks like she has something for every kind of stitching, and such pretty colors, simple displays. I LOVE that place.
And the things you bought are making me drool on my keyboard. lol.
Lol, she surely does cater for all kinds of stitching. I did not even indulge yet in the cross stitch and tapestry goodies she has, nor the fabrics. 🙂 I can just see another trip or two in the very near future. She is going to be spoiling us here it seems to me. 🙂
I spotted the needlepoint canvas hanging, and wondered what else was there. 🙂 It’s nice that she is a bit of a trip away, so it will be special to go there, but not so far that you can’t go as often as you want. 🙂
I am so glad she has the needlepoint goodies as well, since so few shops these days have any. 🙂 I like it as well that she is a bit away, will make for a nice trip and visit each time.
Wow looks a great place! So much to go and squish and discover!
Absolutely. I am looking forward to another visit there soon. 🙂
Wow! Lovely new stash!! And that store is amazing! So fresh and clean and full of color! Just love the little buckets of yarn balls overflowing in bright, festive colors. I would love to go there with you and hang out, have a cup of coffee and work on a project. How fun would that be?
It would be great fun to hang out there with you. Specially since she has a variety of goodies, and lots of needlework supplier too. There are so few of those around, she is going to be popular with the ladies for sure.
What a beautiful store and a great stash enhancement
It was a great trip and visit, I had a really good time.
Wow, what a bright, modern shop, no wonder you are happy to take the drive out there! I love the way they’ve presented all the yarn, too – makes you want to buy it all!
Absolutely. It is a super fun shop and she has such a wide variety. 🙂
Yarn! Even pictures of it make me happy.
Absolutely, I can not agree with you more. 🙂
