Just a quick update this morning. I have been pretty busy with smaller projects, and I am happy with my progress so far. It is so satisfying to complete things, and even so fairly quickly.
I finished the Bridger cowl, and cast on for the Barley hat, which is going just as fast.
I did a bit more crochet, and made these cozies for my mugs. I used little wooden buttons to open and close the loop for when I am washing the cups.
The blanket made a little bit of progress, as I completed another pattern on it.
And I even got around to visiting my LYS and was pleasantly surprised with all the new tools and goodies they had in stock. Just in time. I could not resist these new goodies, and got myself some crochet hooks with a light that can be switched on / off. A stunning bamboo crochet hook, a new Tunisian crochet hook, and some really pretty metallic straights.
Lovely! 🙂 I was actually looking at those Knitpro zings just this morning here in Helsinki :)) had not seen them before, they’re gorgeous! I really don’t need any so didn’t buy them…(but now I’m into crochet there is a whole range of hooks that I must start collecting…:) heeheehee.) Beautiful knitting and crocheting as always. 🙂
lol. I did not need the knitting needles either, but could not resist.
Yes, there are stunning crochet hooks available as well. I tend to keep adding to my current “collection”
Have fun and enjoy crochet, it is just as much fun as knitting. 🙂
Glad to see you’re treating yourself amongst all this frenzy of gift-making – I’ve always wanted one of those light-up crochet hooks, they’re such a good idea. I love your mug cosies, too – very tasteful colours.
Thank you so much. So good to hear. 🙂
Only the one LYS here had stocks of the crochet hooks, and only in 2 sizes. They are imported from the UK, so we have to treat ourselves as soon as we see something so pretty. 🙂
gorgeous things you are making/have made! Love the blanket, it will be stunning when you finish it. 🙂 As for the goodies, very nice indeed! LIGHTED crochet hooks? BRILLIANT IDEA! I wish they would make knitting needles as well for when I am foolish enough to choose to knit with black. 🙂
Thank you. I am definitely planning to have the blanket done by the winter here in SA, which is still months away. 🙂
I could not resist the hooks. They are from the UK, and my LYS only had 2 sizes. So I got both. 🙂 I think the manufacturer also has knitting needles. 🙂 Will keep my eyes open, who knows, maybe they will be the next in our LYS.
I will keep a close eye out or them!
Your cowl is so pretty! I can just feel how warm and cozy it will be and the colors are lovely. You are already 1/2 way done with the hat! Looks very nice. I love the mug cozies and must make a few of them this year. Your wooden buttons are a perfect finish for them. The blanket is coming along nicely and your new tools are wonderful! Have fun stitching!
