It is Springtime in Johannesburg! We are having the most amazing weather, and on my way to work this morning, I was siting in the usual morning traffic, I notices that the temperature was already 17 degrees C at 07h30. A promise for a great day.
Some colour is blooming around my home, my lavender plants are having a beautiful time and are looking pretty already. My colleagues at the office spoiled me with the prettiest potted Gerbera, which brightens up every day.
I (Finally) finished the second sock of the pair of Pixel Socks I was knitting for my daughter. It is about time. She might wear them next winter. 🙂 Although we could have a cold day here and there during the summer that they will be handy for. This was a first for me, and I learned a lot about knitting with two different colour yarns. I will be making some more of these socks, and I hope they go faster.
I decided to add a zipper to the small green bag I knitted for a swap buddy. I think it works better and you can keep your goodies safely stored.
And of course, my LYS is also feeling the great Spring days, and spoiled us with a lot of new goodies in the store. I was really impressed with these new sewing and darning needle holders, and after a few minutes of serious contemplation, bought a whole handful. Not to mention the new pincushion that I simply had to have. Way to cute!
Ooh your socks and bag are stunning. I love your new darning needle holders. I’ve never seen anything like them. 🙂
First time I have found them here, my LYS says they are new. Could not resist. 🙂
they are soooo cute and I haven’t seen them over here either, we need some asap 🙂
I am loving the socks. I haven’t tried two-color knitting. Too chicken. Perhaps you inspire, however.
lol. I was a bit chicken too. 🙂 Still think I need more practice. Will be trying my hand at making more of these until I feel more comfortable with it. Keeping an eye out for when you also try. 🙂
Oooh they look great, definitely going to have to try those socks too! Love the pincushion, it made me smile 🙂
Happy spring! 🙂 ♥ ❤
Thank you. Hope you are having good weather as well! 🙂
Thanks 🙂 Currently enjoying pleasant fall weather, but that “other” season will soon be here
♥ ❤
Hmm, love that “other” season, the one with the fluffy white stuff! You can see we don’t get that much here, I love it!
Haha… yup, I know what you mean… Around here, we like it for the first couple of weeks. Some people love winter. But most of us are pretty happy to see it all finally melt— 5 months later! … LoL … sigh 🙂 ♥ ❤
Your socks are beautiful! And I love your green bag! And those needle holders!
Thank you so much. 🙂
Perfect spring socks! They’re lovely. We had glorious spring weather here, too, at the beginning of the week but it’s been a bit mixed since yesterday and definitely a bit cooler again.
Hope it warms up soon. We are having glorious Spring weather, and it seems to be perfect for the weekend. Yay!
Our summer is almost coming to an end. Fall starts next week and I am hoping for a long and beautiful Indian Summer. I am already dreading the coming winter and so jealous of your Spring. Your socks turned out lovely and I am sure your daughter will get a lot of wear out of them. Love the little needle cases. They are just too cute. I am in need of some new needles and will have to see if I can find something like that here.
Hope you are still enjoying some long Indian summer days. Spring seems to have left us already. It is scorching hot already, and we are currently having a heatwave here with regular warnings on the radio and tv to keep safe and drink lots of water.
I would not mind your Fall anytime. You get such lovely colours when the leaves changes. Beautiful.
The range of needles I bought have a beautiful set or two in longer / thinner needles perfect for embroidery. I would be very happy to put a case in the mail for you if you would be interested. 🙂 It would be my pleasure and the cases are small enough.
